After 2.5 years, I’m leaving Oomph, Inc. to take a position with Automattic as a Design Engineer. As part of the company behind WordPress.com, I’ll join Team Custom as they introduce new features to empower users to customize their blogs.
For those in the know, Automattic puts potential hires through a trial phase to ensure that the position and distributed nature of the work is best for all parties. My trial experience was a great one, so I’m thrilled to start full time and continue what I’ve been working on so far.
Needless to say, I’m overjoyed at the opportunity I’ve been presented with. I’ve really enjoyed my time at Oomph, and they’re a company equipped to continue doing great work, but I’m ready for a new challenge. I’ll use the next two weeks to wrap up my involvement in our current projects before starting at Automattic.
More to come once I get settled in.
