I’m a Los-Angeles-based web developer, former accountant, and occasional audio engineer. Though I’ve done work with Drupal and Joomla in the past, I now work exclusively with WordPress. Through my former employer, Oomph, Inc., I was lucky enough to work on the WordPress.com VIP platform, which provided exposure to the unique complexities of scaling WordPress to support significant traffic volumes.
In late July 2012, I joined Automattic’s Team Custom, bringing new features to WordPress.com users who want to customize their blogs with more than just a great theme. In June 2014, I launched a new team at Automattic focused on growing WordPress’s market share to at least 51%. November 2015 saw me join the VIP team, supporting clients including Time.com, Techcrunch, Facebook.
Since October 2017, I’ve been a Principal Software Developer at Alley, where I continue to focus on scalable WordPress solutions for publishers, museums, and non-profits.
I also develop plugins for WordPress, which are released at no cost through the WordPress plugin repository. A few of my plugins can be found at ethitter.com/plugins/, with a complete list available at http://profiles.wordpress.org/ethitter/. Most of these plugins were created at the behest of former clients, who were generous enough to permit their release for the benefit of the WordPress community.
